Job Description – Front End Developer

Based in Sligo, Ireland

Full-time, Permanent

Our client is a leading provider of community ophthalmology, hospital support services and eye care technology in the UK. Job Summary:

Due to the success of our client’s web applications in the Healthcare sector, they are now looking to strengthen their development team with a Front End Developer. It is an exciting phase where you'll use your experience and expertise to work with the CTO and other senior developers to re-architect the optimal tech stack that will enable them to continue to grow and produce awesome web application solutions for patients and healthcare professionals.

The role is office based in Sligo Town.

 

Current Tech Stack:

The frontend is currently built using Angular with Bootstrap for base styling of the applications. We use AWS Amplify for CI: CD, BitBucket for source control and projects are managed using JIRA.

We use an API to communicate with the backend, extensively using TypeScript Interfaces and JSON, they are also integrated with AWS S3.

The backend is currently implemented in load balanced AWS EC2 instances with compiled app server, S3 and Oracle database on AWS RDS. The successful candidate will work with Senior Back-end Developers, CTO and Dev Team to migrate this if necessary to an optimal architecture.

 

What You’ll Do:

 Design and development high quality user interfaces and features for our web applications

 Be a champion for the end user and ensure that our websites are responsive with great user experience

 Participating in regular showcases of new work to the product owners and stakeholders  Manage different projects and work closely with other team members.

 

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

 IT Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience

 Good working knowledge of most if not all the following – HTML, CSS, JavaScript,and TypeScript

 Ability to work on your own initiative

 Creative, good communicator with great interpersonal skills

 Relevant experience developing RESTful, Enterprise Web applications, leveraging JavaScript Frameworks (preferably Angular) across all major browsers

 Ability to gather requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

 A good understanding of OOP principles.
